Bursitis

February 11th 2008 - Today, Kamiel's achilles problems were diagnosed as bursitis. This means Kamiel will have to refrain from training for several weeks, a serious setback. Kamiel is indebted to the staff at the radiology department at hospital 'Gelderse Vallei' in Ede for their quick and professional help. [React]

Kamiel decides not to start in Schoorl

February 9th 2008 - A combination of a mild cold and an irritated achilles tendon has made Kamiel decide not to start in the Dutch 10 K Road championships. "I just talked it over with my coach Bram and we both agreed not to take this risk in preparation of the City-Pier-City half marathon. On March 15th in The Hague I want to assure my trip to Beijing by running under 1.03" [React]

Low-key comeback in Mastboscross Breda

January 20th 2008 - After the Amsterdam Marathon in October 2007, an old injury in his right ankle ("dancer's heel") withheld Kamiel from resuming training. Since his next major goal will be the Beijing Olympics he was in no hurry and decided to use this time period to rest.
